Impressionism Body Painting Arts Installation, THINK BEFORE YOU DESTROY
UN ROTARY DAY initiative helmed by Brandlah Marketing Consultancy Pte Ltd, tagline was only perceived few hours before the event began... as always... we made it work!..
Switching from cosmetic body paint to acrylic paint for the tagline on the message board made from recycled carton and dolling up our first timer, 11 years old ambassador, Flore Michele that came on 11th hour (err.. i only had less than half hour) did not ever deter us from accomplishing our mission, Ensure Environmental Sustainability on Millennium Development Goal (MDG) agenda.
In fact, another first timer, Vives Caroline did it with dedication and patience. I must be thankful too as i have a superb 16 years old assistant, Atikah Wahab.. i don't think i would complete my multi tasking roles as i have to work on my runway models for our Runway Charity at the same time.
THINK BEFORE YOU DESTROY, is about morphing inanimate objects into objet d'arts impressionism style, a leash of new life, where most of these objects were either hidden in the closet for donkey years; like the Polaroid camera, hand me down; the easel stand, thrown away stuffs like stool, shoes and cartons... except for the ground sheet, wish too i could get it from somewhere, oh well.. deadline.. deadline..
The objective Recycle. Reuse. Refresh.
The impressionism body painting art installation depicts humans are configured as an inanimate work of art, frozen along with the remaining objects in depicting body painting.
As the tagline says it.. we need to show that in the midst of painting comes alive, there must something that sticks out from the 'ordinary', a symbol of growth, it must be a plant, animal will only send SPCA into frenzy...
Voila, the humble grass, the only breathable living thing in this painting, sans being painted up, but of course, if i want to make it absolute painting, i could do it too using cosmetic body paint but the message would not carry its might.
Yes, the human canvas is in cosmetic body paint never in acrylic paint, made of high grade quality that is breathable and pliable for the skin, not those cheesy cheap ones from stationery store. I frown upon those artists using cheap irresponsible stuffs on human canvas, they ought to be banned in showcasing their work! And for those artist using acrylic paint on human canvas, either they are in the wrong trade or simply they need to be reformed.
I do have to do my part in ensuring the models are not abused for the sake of art in ensuring their skins could breathe. Acrylic paint will only literally kill them!
Hope you guys enjoy my first Installation Arts and hope to contribute more to social causes.
Oh well, a fabulous divaliciously gorgeous, Evi came along and '...........' the installation. Presto~!
Recycle. Reuse. Refresh.
