Body-Art is a timeless art of appreciating the human canvas as visual art. It is a mean of expression of creative concepts translated on human canvas without incurring neither permanance nor pain or destructing properties unlike tattoos or graffiti art. It’s a mean of breaking the norm in human psychology for ice breaking and creates a conversational piece worthy of notice. Simply, body-painting is not driven by elaborate or a complication unlike contemporary or abstract arts as it is to be enjoyed by individuals.

Arts Alive!

First of its 3 campaigns at community outreach program, People's Association Arts Alive! Body Painting initiatives in conjunction with PassionArts Month 2012 making its debut at Bishan Park.

Despite the unwelcoming downpour, nothing could dampen the spirit. Thousands thronged this quaint park with activities that turn into a mini carnival that is officiated by our Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.

Our body painted talents had so much fun infusing with the crowd and pleased being greeted by the Prime Minister. Indeed it was a spectacle to behold and such effort gives a glimpse of body painting into the heartland.

More Arts Alive! programs will be carried out in due course. 1st April will be at Bedok and 8th April will be at Punggol.

Do catch us there and let's party!

Impressionism Body Painting Arts Installation, THINK BEFORE YOU DESTROY

UN ROTARY DAY initiative helmed by Brandlah Marketing Consultancy Pte Ltd, tagline was only perceived few hours before the event began... as always... we made it work!..

Switching from cosmetic body paint to acrylic paint for the tagline on the message board made from recycled carton and dolling up our first timer, 11 years old ambassador, Flore Michele that came on 11th hour (err.. i only had less than half hour) did not ever deter us from accomplishing our mission, Ensure Environmental Sustainability on Millennium Development Goal (MDG) agenda.

In fact, another first timer, Vives Caroline did it with dedication and patience. I must be thankful too as i have a superb 16 years old assistant, Atikah Wahab.. i don't think i would complete my multi tasking roles as i have to work on my runway models for our Runway Charity at the same time.

THINK BEFORE YOU DESTROY
, is about morphing inanimate objects into objet d'arts impressionism style, a leash of new life, where most of these objects were either hidden in the closet for donkey years; like the Polaroid camera, hand me down; the easel stand, thrown away stuffs like stool, shoes and cartons... except for the ground sheet, wish too i could get it from somewhere, oh well.. deadline.. deadline..

The objective Recycle. Reuse. Refresh.

The impressionism body painting art installation depicts humans are configured as an inanimate work of art, frozen along with the remaining objects in depicting body painting.

As the tagline says it.. we need to show that in the midst of painting comes alive, there must something that sticks out from the 'ordinary', a symbol of growth, it must be a plant, animal will only send SPCA into frenzy...

Voila, the humble grass, the only breathable living thing in this painting, sans being painted up, but of course, if i want to make it absolute painting, i could do it too using cosmetic body paint but the message would not carry its might.

Yes, the human canvas is in cosmetic body paint never in acrylic paint, made of high grade quality that is breathable and pliable for the skin, not those cheesy cheap ones from stationery store. I frown upon those artists using cheap irresponsible stuffs on human canvas, they ought to be banned in showcasing their work! And for those artist using acrylic paint on human canvas, either they are in the wrong trade or simply they need to be reformed.

I do have to do my part in ensuring the models are not abused for the sake of art in ensuring their skins could breathe. Acrylic paint will only literally kill them!

Hope you guys enjoy my first Installation Arts and hope to contribute more to social causes.

Oh well, a fabulous divaliciously gorgeous, Evi came along and '...........' the installation. Presto~!

Recycle. Reuse. Refresh.

Body Painting Impressionism, now everyone can be body painted

Impressionism body painting took me by surprise.. i dragged my partner to the bathroom and yanked out my cosmetic body paint and started painting him in impressionism style. This time round no stripping of whatsoever, poof!

CHILD PROOF at last!
So goes the marble wall too, oh yes.. there goes my expensive dollop of my cosmetic body paint on the wall!.. and an hour later, voila.. this surreal look of impressionism art painting came alive.

Poor Albert, 'glued' to the wall for m
y sake. Kudos for his gung ho spirit! Mom comes around and 'kewl' with the work too and then it's time to capture in digital format.

"Hmm.. Interesting," I quipped... before long.. its time to clean up the mess..

Actually, this is just a test run for a project but of course, with better timing, i want to plump up the technique.. but this rudimentary look gives me enough energy to spur me for detailed work in the future..

oh well...

But at least i found an interesting platform that i can easily

assimilate into my Asian culture as right now, there's no need for my model to strip entirely.. an issue that i have been battling over a decade in a myopic Asian context.. hey presto, so now everyone can be body painted! At least Albert is happy to see the result too, so i can do more of him, he is such a darhling!

Watch out for my upcoming works with an interesting twist soon.

Meanwhile, i am looking for anyone to be body painted in IMPRESSIONISM style
, be it swinging single, couple or family.

Runway Concepts body paints for a polytechnic student group’s short film

Facciata by Christopher Lim Hong Jim - Polytechnic students of Film, Sound & Video takes the initiative to produce a short film on their own accord outside school electives.

24 June 2011, Singapore – A group of Polytechnic Students due to graduate in Diploma of Film, Sound & Video approached Runway Concepts with a very interesting short film concept. They wanted to produce something to call their own and aim to submit the film to various short film events held annually over various countries.

Runway Concepts was engaged to incorporate body paint on women and men in the cast as part of the concept of a world of colors. The film loosely translates the body painting colors on the characters to the varied emotions of people and animals in different situations of the day. A subtle concept of how emotions and feelings can sometimes rule our actions or simply a part of a daily scenario.

The short film titled Facciata, is a silent film with narration and speaks of a man’s concept of a world of colors. He yearns to be part of this world and imagines it to be a better place than his. Through various encounters, he experiences this world from his point of view and it slowly dawns on him the world he hoped to be part of may not be as great as he thought it would be. The ending would reveal a reason the man sees this world as only he could.

Jerry Hoh, Singapore’s local actor did a great job taking on the lead role with Nixem, Director of Runway Concepts and International Body Painter who body painted himself as well took part in a supporting role in one of the scenes.

With constraints of lighting and location, Runway Concepts rose to the challenge to body paint the cast of the short film for several days in a row and everyone did their best work within the limits given.
